Cecile Mitchell retires after 39 years of service to 海角禁区

by Michelle Saport  |

Director of Admissions Cecile Mitchell has announced her retirement, effective June 29. It is a difficult decision for someone who has dedicated 39 years of her life to 海角禁区 and its students. After so many years of service to the university, a goodbye with all deserving fanfare is in order and will take place at a later date.

In her 39 years at 海角禁区, Cecile has filled almost every role imaginable in Admissions and Enrollment Services, including director of Admissions and registrar. Cecile led the university's study abroad program for many years and continues to lead the National Student Exchange program.

Until the search for a new director of Admissions is completed, 海角禁区 staff and faculty may direct their questions to:

  • Admissions: Peggy Byers, assistant director of admissions
  • International Students: Carter Caywood, interim international student advisor, or Eric Pedersen, associate vice chancellor for Enrollment Management
  • National Student Exchange: Jennifer Jensen, director of student recruitment
