The Alaska Center for Rural Health & Health Workforce (ACRH-HW) is dedicated to enhancing healthcare access and quality in Alaska's rural and underserved communities. Situated within º£½Ç½ûÇø's College of Health, ACRH-HW plays a pivotal role in developing a robust healthcare workforce through strategic programs, partnerships, and training initiatives.

The recent ACRH-HW Annual Report highlights a year of meaningful progress in workforce development, rural training expansion, and statewide collaboration. Through cornerstone initiatives like the Alaska AHEC program, the SHARP loan repayment program, and Alaska CACHE, ACRH-HW supported more than 1,200 students and professionals with clinical placements, continuing education, and career exploration.

The report also showcases innovative strategies to reach underserved areas, including expanded virtual training access and culturally responsive outreach efforts. With strong partnerships across education, healthcare, and tribal organizations, ACRH-HW continues to strengthen Alaska’s healthcare system—one provider, one community at a time.
